9 Reviews of the Mojave 5 Porch
By: Joy buckley Reason: I've used one Made in: 2012 Rating:
Used for 2 weeks from new this year. Brilliant addition to the mojave 5 tent and a must have. Easy to pitch and gave us lots more room. We used it as a kitchen and dinning area and was great. A lot of people complain about the gap around the bottom. Remember it a porch not another tent and if pitched right the gap is minimal and allows air to flow. Whilst we used it we had heavy rain and wind and it stood up
Very well. Yes a little rain came in at the bottom on the sides but it went on the part of the mojave tent that would have rain on it anyway without the porch and did not cause a problem. The ground sheet was a nice surprise. Overall a must have if you have the mojave tent as it will give you lots more space inside the actual tent.

We bought this last yr and have used it twice. We use the extra area gained for the cooking and to eat in. Specially as the children are up from am. Comes with a groundsheet. Where you peg it down the metal ring had now detached. We also found its a little tricky to keep the top bit over the tent and it doesn't go to the floor. May have to try the cutting off an inch off the poles like others as when it rained the rain came in.

What a nightmare this product is. For the price it really needs to work properly. The method for fixing the porch to the tent is ineffective, there really needs to be a fixing at the centre of the roof to stop it pinging off the main tent.
I'm really not looking forward to erecting it next time we go away but the space it gives us is essential.
I'm really hoping that with a bit of practice I will be able to get the porch to stay attached to the tent, especially considering I'm taking the kids to Filey this weekend and it's forecasting winds

Bought the Mojave porch to give us extra storage space for our Mojave 5 tent. We used it for the first time this week and were very pleased with it. It was pretty straightforward to put together, although I might be tempted to try the trick of cutting off a bit of the bottom of each pole to get the fabric nearer the ground as suggested by another reviewer. We ended up eating breakfast in the porch both days as the weather was a bit chilly and it provided a great cooking and eating area. Highly recommended to any other Mojave5 owners.

We have purchased this porch to go with our voyager 6. The reason for this is the voyager 6 porches are like gold dust! This porch is only a smidgen smaller on the width. It is a perfect fit. It is cheaper the the other and comes with a groundsheet so real bargain. I have also cut 1' off each leg so there is no gap at the bottom. Obviously this voids the guarantee but I don't intend to take it back. Only pitched in the garden so will leave another review when we have used it for real

We've up graded our tent from the Halfords £99 deal one. Bought the Mojave 5 tent beginning of the year and have added the porch to this a month ago. We used it for the first time this weekend and can say it's the best addition (apart from the carpet) that anyone can add to their Mojave 5 setup.
It gave use ample kitchen and dining space leaving the rest of the tent floor as a living area.
We paid £75 in the Go Outdoors sale. It is very easy to put up even for the first time, in all it took just short of an hour to erect both the tent and porch.
A must have buy for anyone wanting a cheaper way to increase the size of your tent.

Brilliant addition to the tent. Kept all the cooking stuff and wet/sandy/muddy footwear in the porch so that the living area of the tent stayed (relatively) clean, dry and tidy. Made all the difference to a geriatric camper as it meant that I didn't have to worry about the state of the tent carpet. Also meant that we could cook under cover which, in turn, meant less spent on meals out!

Mojave 5 Porch well worth the money. £70.00 from go outdoors. We were in Dorset last year and the tent and porch withheld the torrential rain.
The porch gives so much more space, easy to put up and comes with a ground sheet a big bonus.
We managed to sleep in the tent area and cook and day to day living under the porch. Would recommend this to all any Mojave 5 tent owners.
A Must Buy

I bought this porch as the tent was crowded with 3 people and living stuff - its brilliant. Doubles up living area (we use it as the kitchen)and makes your tent so much more spacious. Only downside is the sides don't reach the ground (about 2 inch gap all the way round) The wind and some rain got in under it, but it was the 1st time we put it up. Apart from that, its a brilliant addition to the tent, and only cost us £95 from go outdoors.
